Bonz

This is Bonz. He's a Build-a-Bear guy. He's really a grizzly. Can you tell? He's ruff and MEAN. Ok, not so mean. Bonz was born about 7 years ago. I originally bought him a leather jacket and jeans to wear. He also has the cutest lil tighty whiteys. Later on, he got a police uniform and a nurse uniform with a doctor's bag. For Halloween this year, I wanted to get him a costume. I wanted a skeleton outfit. I thought it would be perfect in my office as there are a lot of skeletons and skulls there already. But they didn't have a skeleton outfit. When I saw these boxers, I knew he had to have them. Build-a-Bear is a fun place. http://www.buildabear.com/

Camp Pupp is Closed for the Season

This is a picture of my fav animal at the Oregon Zoo.
Well, CampPupp is closed for the season. The boys went home with their mother yesterday. After three weeks, including one week of camping, the silence in my life and home is heavenly. I love the boys, but I'm not used to this parenthood stuff. Camping went great. We spent seven days and nights at it. The boys shared a tent and Jenn and I and the lab duo shared the rv. I had two tents but the boys fought so much the first day of camping that I felt they needed more practice being together. Besides, the other tent is a booger to put up. We went letterboxing, boating, swimming, fishing, etc. A boat was rented. It was a very nice, and unexpected treat. Thank you Maiden. We went into town several days and played at a new park that was built. One day we took pizza to the park and stayed several hours. I enjoyed sitting by the campfire and then sleeping in the next morning. Jenn and I enjoyed being together in the little rv with the dogs at night. I would read and Jenn would knit while we hung out. My dogs went to bed very early every evening. When we got home, we all fell down in front of the tv and didn't move! We rented movies and watched tv for 24 hours before even trying to move. The Bee Movie is fun. http://www.beemovie.com/ I give it a paws up. Nim's Island is awesome. http://www.nimsisland.com/ We loved it. Gotta love Jody Foster. Two paws up. Jenn and I are now in the middle of watching the first season of Dexter. http://www.sho.com/site/dexter/home.do We love Michael C. Hall in our house. We loved him in Six Feet Under as well. http://www.hbo.com/sixfeetunder/ Six Feet Under did the best series finale ever. It was hard to say goodbye to that show. The other show that was hard for us to say goodbye to was Queer as Folk. http://www.sho.com/site/queer/home.do Both Six Feet Under and Queer as Folk get two paws up, a tail wag and some doggie drool. I can't think of anything higher unless I add in a mangled slobbery tennis ball :)

Bears potty down at the zoo

Here's a picture of one of MY BEARS at the zoo. I love the polar bears. They are my fav. I especially like it when they are playing in the water. The keepers give them buckets of fish frozen in water. That's fun to watch too. I also really enjoy the Eagles and the Sea Lions. Vancouer Gay Pride is tomorrow so I'm trying to do Bears on the blog until then. We're gonna have a booth there and I'm taking some young people to do free balloon animals for the kids. Vancouver Pride celebration is small but I feel it's important to show up and support it. We're lucky that we have a small celebration over here but also can celebrate across the river at a BIG celebration. Best of both worlds.

Jenn eats bear for breakfast

Jenn eats bear for breakfast. Bear Claws that is. Ha. More bear pictures. This is the same Leavenworth Bear on the day after Thanksgiving. Leavenworth is a Bavarian Villiage in northern Washington state. It was a lot of fun. We had the day to explore the town and I'm sorry to say that we never got off the first street! I tried mullied wine for the first time. YUMMO. Here's Leavenworth's web site: http://www.leavenworth.org/modules/pages/index.php?pageid=1

Bears and Pupps at the Zoo

Yesterday, for work, I went to the zoo with several awesome staff members and a handful of equally awesome young people. This is a picture of the time before yesterday that I was at the zoo. That damn bear stoled my hat. This particular bear is near the California Black Bears. Are they still California Black Bears if they live in Oregon?

Bears are friends not food

Gotta love bears - of all shapes, sizes, and species :) . I'll have more pictures of us and bears later. This particular bear lives in Leavenworth, Washington. We went there last November with the Clark College German Club.
